VNG Test Components (4 Main Parts):
1. Ocular Motor Testing (Eye Movement Tests):
Duration: 10-15 minutes

2. Positional Testing (Position Changes):
Duration: 10-15 minutes
- Purpose: BPPV (Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo) detect करना
- Procedure:
- Different positions में लिटाया जाता है:
- Sitting → Lying down
- Head turned right
- Head turned left
- Lying on right side, left side
- Each position में 20-30 seconds hold
- Eye movements carefully observe (nystagmus?)

3. Caloric Testing (सबसे Important!):
Duration: 20-25 minutes
- Purpose: Each inner ear (left और right) की functioning separately test करना
- Procedure:
- Warm और cool air (या water) ear canal में blow की जाती है
- Temperature change → semicircular canal fluid movement → nystagmus
- 4 tests total:
- Right ear – warm air
- Right ear – cool air
- Left ear – warm air
- Left ear – cool air
- Each stimulation: 30-60 seconds
- Recovery time between tests
- Normal response: Nystagmus होती है (eyes rhythmically move)
- Abnormal responses:
- Unilateral Weakness: एक ear से weak/no response → उस side की inner ear problem
- Directional Preponderance: एक direction की nystagmus stronger – asymmetry
- Bilateral Weakness: दोनों ears से poor response (rare, serious)
- Discomfort: यह test थोड़ा uncomfortable हो सकता है – dizziness, nausea feel (temporary!)
4. Rotary Chair Testing (Sometimes):
- Motorized chair में बैठकर controlled rotation
- Very specific cases में (bilateral weakness suspected)
Duration: Total 45-60 minutes
After VNG Test:
- Immediate effects: थोड़ा dizzy, lightheaded feel हो सकता है (caloric test से) – 15-30 minutes में normal
- कोई driving restriction usually नहीं, but अगर बहुत dizzy feel हो तो someone साथ लाएं
