बच्चों की सुनाई जाँच
बच्चे की सुनाई, बोलने का विकास, ear infections या school response को लेकर चिंता हो तो उम्र के अनुसार hearing assessment उपयोगी है। कोई एक test हर प्रश्न का उत्तर नहीं देता।
कौन-से tests उपयोगी हो सकते हैं
OAE inner-ear response की screening में, BERA/ABR auditory pathway response में, tympanometry middle-ear function में और behavioural audiometry बच्चे की response-based hearing में मदद कर सकते हैं। चयन उम्र और clinical question पर निर्भर है।
Screening और diagnosis अलग हैं
Screening result “pass” या “refer” हो सकता है; refer result अपने-आप स्थायी hearing loss का diagnosis नहीं है। जरूरत पड़ने पर repeat या diagnostic assessment किया जाता है।
परिवार को क्या बताना चाहिए
Pregnancy/birth history, NICU stay, family history, infections, medicines, speech milestones और school concerns साझा करें। exact test availability और समय पहले phone पर confirm करें।
